Services we offer

Services such as production optimization & well test analysis allow for a better utilization of resources to provide an increase in quality of the crude oil production process, along with the data and analysis to further the effectiveness of the processes.

Enhanced oil recovery (or EOR) is a term generally used for the procedures used for increasing the amount of crude oil that is extracted from an oil field.

Improved recovery is essential for any business wishing to increase efficiency while decreasing operating costs over a long-term project. EOR allows for up to 30 – 60% of the oil reservoir’s original product can be extracted, as compared with primary and secondary recovery options that allow for 20 – 40% recovery rate.

Techniques such as production optimization, well test analysis, & oil well performance analysis can increase effectiveness of recovery techniques when compared to primary and secondary recovery options. Currently, there are a number of different methods for EOR: gas injection, the use of miscible solvents such as polymer flooding/microbial injection processes, and thermal methods such as fire flooding.

Services such as production optimization & well test analysis allow for a better utilization of resources to provide an increase in quality of the crude oil production process, along with the data and analysis to further the effectiveness of the processes. The addition of EOR methods to the recovery of oil creates some additional costs for the business, but the benefits of using EOR methods such as oil well performance analysis are much greater over the life of the project and can help save money in costs associated with other alternative techniques.

Enhanced oil production methods have varied over time due to factors such as environmental concerns and new technologies and analysis systems; let Dale Lee Engineering take care of your business’ oil & gas engineering endeavours, trust the over 20 years of experience to handle any situation with the highest degree of professionalism and care.

About

Dale Lee began his career in the oil and gas industry by working as a floor hand on drilling rigs in 1986. He proceeded to earn his Professional Engineering status with The Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA) in May 1994.

Recently he completed three master level Engineering and Geological courses at the University of Calgary: Numerical analysis, Reservoir Simulation, and Applied Geo-Statistics. These courses were chosen as they have direct influence on his active career path: analyzing hydrocarbon reservoirs while employing statistical techniques in a unique analytical process.

His engineering focus is to analyze reservoirs to predict the locations of underperforming wells based on statistical analyses of hydrocarbon production. Reservoirs’ wells are evaluated using spatial statistics (i.e. kriging) to locate underperforming wells or regions within reservoirs. He is able to achieve this goal by using known (measured) petro-physical information from reservoirs and coupling this data with their production history (production/injection flow and pressures). Spatial statistics including other statistical tools, such as regression analysis, are used to optimize the reservoir’s performance with respect to hydrocarbon production.
